Look at what I made recently:I must admit that making these Elmo-themed souvenirs was a challenge. I thought it was easy but it took me some time to finally get the proportions of Elmo’s face. But it was fun! I hope that the recipients and my client will love what I did. Next in line is miniature hibben knives for an avid collector. Hopefully, I can pull it off. I will let you know!

We have been looking for a craft that might interest my daughter. I thought that cross-stitching is the thing for her but unfortunately, I am wrong. She asked for some of the cords that I make into bracelets but she was too impatient to finish it. We went scouring the Net then and we found this tutorial on how to make a LOVE script necklace. It looks easy and I already have the needed tools. Let’s see if she is interested enough to try and finish this project.

Getting Fit with Jillian Michaels

Per a good friend’s suggestion, I am now doing Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred. I am on my 6th day though I started two weeks ago. Life got busy last week so I had to stop. What can I say about this workout? It is tough! But it is one thing that I need. I have been doing Hip Hop Abs for some years now and it’s getting boring and easy. Hopefully, this will work out for me and when I am done, I plan to try yoga. My husband already gave me some yoga clothing for women last month and I should put them into good use. Getting fit can be more fun and exciting especially when you’re wearing fashionable workout outfit, right?

Bake a Bread

We live near a skills training school and I have been planning to inquire about their short-term courses. I had the chance to do so when my daughter was enrolled in their summer cooking class last month. I learned that they offer various cooking and baking classes. As much as I love cakes, I do not have the patience to prepare and decorate it. I am leaning toward baking breads which I think is more practical and with less fuss compared to cakes. Hopefully, they will open bread-baking next month so I can enroll. I am excited to finally learn how to bake my own bread. Yay!

Organizing my Polymer Clay Crafting Supplies

I have been accumulating a lot of tools and supplies for my online shop of handmade products and keeping them all organized has been a challenge. Last Friday, my daughter and I spent some hours at some thrift shop and a hardware store to buy some storage boxes. I also looked at the aisle of aluminum machine handles just in case I find something that I can use for my pasta machine because it’s handle is quite tough to maneuver but unfortunately, I was not able to find one. The good news is that we found some affordable and sturdy storage boxes and an organizer for my daughter’s knick-knacks. Upon coming home, we immediately sorted our respective stuff and used the storages that we bought. Now, I can easily access my beads and metals without opening all the boxes where I kept them. I used to have six small boxes for storage but now, I only have two big ones.

Hello Summer!

Summer break has officially started last month and for starters, our family had a 10-day trip to the islands down south. It was a very memorable and exciting family experience that we wish to go back and visit again.

And this week, my daughter will start her cooking class. We decided that it is going to be a good activity for her as she is very much interested in whipping up simple dishes and desserts. Aside from that, cooking is a life skill and it is good that kids know their way in the kitchen at an early age.

A friend also suggested that we enroll her in a physical activity this summer. My husband is thinking of enrolling her in a hip hop dance class but that is still subject for approval of the one who will take her to and fro her class – yours truly. Hahaha!

Anyway, I have already bought her new art supplies like watercolor paints, drawing books, paint brushes and others. With her money, she also bought new books and those has been keeping her busy for almost a week. This week, her class will pre-occupy her until next week. For the next weeks, I have to find new things for her to be busy with or else, she’ll bug me to no end. I let her play with the gadgets and watch her DVDs but those are controlled and limited to encourage her to do more productive things.

For Her Safety

It has never crossed our mind but last month, when I saw on the news how a young lady was assaulted by a group of men, I suggested to my husband that we enroll our daughter to a self-defense class this summer. My brother, who holds a black belt in judo, told us some years back to engage her to the sport. Well I might do that soon. I am also wondering where to buy pepper spray for her and our added safety. It is sad that the world we live in gets more dangerous every day, thus, it is wise to take precautionary measures like learning how to defend ourselves when attacked and bringing products that we can use to protect and defend ourselves with.

We Partied

We attended a very grand birthday party yesterday. It was the 7th birthday of one of our friends’ daughter and it was a perfect time too, to catch up with some of my friends. My daughter had a blast making new friends and participating in the games. On the other hand, I made chika with some of the friends I talk with daily, thanks to the Internet. On the other hand, the Husband enjoyed playing his games on the iPad! He has finally discovered games he likes from the app store – some I’ve downloaded for him and others, he found himself.

Anyway, we enjoyed everything in the party. I love the food and of course, the company. We went home late but we all had fun so no one complained about having a little sleep this morning.

Drums Set as Party Props

Many of the kids in our group will turn seven this year and one of them will celebrate it this coming April. His mom already sent us a Save the Date ecard with one of his photos during a pre-birthday photo shoot. He’s got the talent when it comes to drum playing and he is one lucky kid to have supportive parents.He has recently enrolled in a drum class and so, it is not surprising that his party theme is rock/ music. We are very excited about this party and we’re wondering if the venue will also have best Mapex Drums set as display. It would be a nice props for the rock party, if you ask me! I will definitely have a photo taken while pretending to play it. Hahaha!
