I was reading this poster when my daughter passed by and saw this. She asked me to let her read it too. She did and I asked her what it means. I think she got it and I hope she’ll remember it when she has to.
I stumbled upon this quote today and I say it’s funny and true. Most often, it is the mom that makes a home more home-like, more homey. And I am not saying this because I am a mom! I am a daughter too and even though my mom was and will never be a domestic goddess, home was home because of her. And I know you will all agree with me.
Anyway, I coming out of my soapbox now and will resume my article-writing. I am supposed to write about a certain topic and then got distracted by a friend who can’t believe how affordable ovation guitars at musicians friend are. And then we got distracted by this quote. Hahaha!
Just the encouragement that I and all moms need when we feel incompetent in parenting our kids.
While I teach my daughter the importance of being presentable and pretty on the outside, I emphasize more the importance of being beautiful on the inside. It is something that does not fade and it is a source of genuine happiness not only for her but for those who surrounds her.
Kindness is timeless and will never go out of style no matter how advanced our time and generation may be. Moreover, it is free and does not expect anything in return. I hope that my daughter learns this not only by my teaching but also by my modeling it.
