I have set my homepage to Google (or my browser chose it for me). I am too lazy to change it to other pages that I frequently visit so I let it be. Aside from that, I look forward to those special images that Google creates to honor significant events in the history of mankind. Last Thursday, Google was honored Clara Schumann’s 193rd birth anniversary. She is a famous German musician and along with her equally talented husband, Robert Schumann, they mentored and supported Johannes Brahms through giving public performance of some of his masterpieces. She greatly influenced the music scene through changing the format and repertoire of the piano recital and also the music preference of the listening public. She may have lived in an era where technology was still young and things like bass amps were unheard of and yet, she made a very good contribution in the development of music, thus, making her a prominent figure.
